這個被稱為「Bama Boom」的神秘巨響，最近愈來愈頻繁。據指，至今在美國、澳洲、英國等全球各地，已經有最少64單類似的報告。

專家：不清楚原因
據《太陽報》報導，本月初美國地質調查所（USGS）就在阿拉巴馬州測得巨大聲響，但原因不明。USGS指，當時沒有地震發生，且聲音的分析結果，顯示與地震無關，不清楚為何會有巨響。
當時，美國國家氣象局（National Weather Service，NWS）位於伯明罕（Birmingham）的分部也在twitter上稱，雷達或衛星都未偵測到大型火災或煙霧。NWS表示，根據USGS的資料顯示，當時並沒有發生地震。
「我們沒有確實的答案，只能作出假設。可能是超音速飛機經過，造成音爆巨響；或是最近的獅子座流星雨，有隕石在大氣層中爆炸。」

美國太空總署的專家庫克（Bill Cooke）接受美國ABC 3340訪問時表示，飛機音爆、隕石爆炸都有可能是聲音來源，或地面爆炸而產生，但應該與流星雨無關。
這「聲響」有什麼可能性？
由於現時仍沒未有人能作出合理解釋，引起不少猜測。日前，《每日郵報》列出今年內的報稱有神秘巨響的報告，並綜合了各個可能性。
